What do you enjoy most about your work?

What I enjoy most about my work is definitely being part of our development team. Building TransPortal together with my colleagues is simply fun, and the team dynamics make the work even more enjoyable. I also really enjoy the variety in my work. As a developer, you're constantly dealing with different problems, and no two days are the same. One moment I'm working on one part of the system, and the next I'm diving into something completely different. It's precisely that process of figuring things out and finding solutions that makes the work so enjoyable for me.

How would your colleagues describe you?

As a calm and friendly guy, I think. The rest of the development team sometimes tries to wind me up, but they're getting less and less successful at it. Joking back and forth with them is definitely one of the more enjoyable parts of my day.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Football is definitely my thing. I watch a lot of it, but I enjoy playing even more. I've been part of a team of friends at SC Barbaros for a long time. We train twice a week and, of course, also play a match. Besides that, I spend a lot of time with friends. We often get together and enjoy going out for dinner.

What's something people might not know about you?

That I used to be a passionate gamer. I played games like Call of Duty, FIFA, GTA, Fortnite and Rocket League a lot. I wasn't just competitive, but also pretty good, if I do say so myself. Especially at FIFA. The local mosque in Hengelo occasionally organises FIFA tournaments that attract young Turkish people from all over Twente. I've won several of these tournaments. Unfortunately, I hardly have any time for gaming these days. I only join in occasionally when my group of friends happens to be online.
